Campaigning for Paula was in a ward that is traditionally a Liberal Democrat stronghold. Portsmouth is city dominated by flat fronted or bay and forecourt terraces directly facing the street, cats are always sitting in the window so we decided to replace them with printed cats! A limited number of Cool Cats were made and voters were encouraged to photograph and share on social media. They created a buzz and engaged residents that had been put off politics after the toxic 2019 elections and Brexit. They signaled a different way of doing politics and made campaigning more fun and therefore sustainable.
